Cambridge Healthtech Institute’s Second Annual

Cloud Computing for Data Science

Applications and Advances in Life Sciences R&D
Part of the Twentieth Annual Molecular Medicine Tri-Conference
February 11-12, 2013 | Moscone North Convention Center | San Francisco, CA

The full potential of the cloud to transform IT processes for life sciences research has been limited by the inherent bottleneck in moving big data. Many organizations including research and high-performance computing centers are exploring new R&D and deployment efforts to running workflows and data analysis on Cloud infrastructures and platforms. This Symposium will look at innovative cloud computing and applications that address data driven problems.  Real-world use cases across drug discovery & design, research & collaboration, molecular modeling, next-generation sequencing, proteomics and bioinformatics will be presented. Join thought leaders to examine how cloud computing can help users of local compute clusters and storage solutions migrate their tasks to a new, efficient environment.

Who should attend: Directors, Managers, Researchers, and Scientists from Large Pharma, Biotechs, Academia Government and Healthcare Organizations working in fields such as Information Technology, Informatics, R&D, Bioinformatics,
Systems Development, Software Engineering, and Workflow and Data Analysis

Topics will include, but are not limited to:

  • Workflows and data analysis
  • Application of cloud technologies to new projects and initiatives (e.g., lab notebooks and replicable science, distributed workflows)
  • Analysis of new companies in the cloud space that are providing cloud-enabled analysis and services and established companies looking at new ways to offer services
  • Using the cloud and social computing for collaboration around data
  • Graph analytics in the cloud
  • High content screening and big data analytics
  • Next-gen sequencing
  • Security and privacy
  • Performance and cost effective cloud computing

If you would like to submit a proposal to give a presentation at this meeting, please click here

The deadline for submission is August 9, 2012.

All proposals are subject to review by the Scientific Advisory Committee to ensure the highest quality of the conference program.  Please note that due to limited speaking slots, preference is given to pharmaceutical and biotech companies, regulators and those from academia. Additionally, vendors/consultants who provide products and services to these biopharmaceutical companies are offered opportunities for podium presentation slots based on a variety of Corporate Sponsorships.
